The Society was founded in 1902 to enable Gentlemen to fish mid-week matches. From these simple beginnings the Society has grown until it now has a maximum of 100 paid up members.
The Society now has an annual Match calendar comprising of
- 7 Thursday matches, Members make their own travel and Breakfast arrangements.
- 7 Sunday Matches where members make their own travel and Breakfast arrangements.
- Fur & Feather match held at the end of the summer matches.( see match calendar page for full information)
- The Committee holds its own annual match and members are invited to apply to go on this match subject to places being available.
- The Society holds a winter league with all 6 matches fished at Bramley pond between October and March.

The Society holds a Prize Presentation on the 1st Wednesday in November to which all members are invited and the match venues for the following season are also voted in at this meeting.
The Annual Subscription fee becomes payable on the date of the Annual General Meeting held usually on the 3rd Wednesday in February. Membership is deemed to have lapsed should the renewal Subscription not have been paid by the 28th March.
Changes of address should be given in writing to the Secretary.
